AMEC chosen to construct 250 MW Copper Mountain Solar 3 PV plant in Nevada

2013.08.13

Sempra U.S. Gas & Power LLC (San Diego, California, U.S.) has awarded AMEC plc (London) the contract to design and construct the 250 MW Copper Mountain Solar 3 solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the U.S. state of Nevada.
Construction has already begun on the project, and AMEC expects to complete Copper Mountain 3 in 2015. The project is the third phase of the Copper Mountain Solar complex near Boulder City, following on the 58 MW Copper Mountain Solar 1 and the 150 MW Copper Mountain Solar 2, 92 MW of which has been completed.
“Being selected to deliver this project is significant for AMEC, recognizing our experience as a leading EPC service provider and our strong performance successfully delivering complete solutions for solar developments, safely and sustainably,” notes AMEC Power & Process Americas President Tim Gelbar.

Contract follows plants in Arizona, Indiana
In April 2013 AMEC announced the completion of the first 17 MW of a 35 MW PV plant that it is building for Arizona Public Service (APS, Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.) on state land in Arizona. The company is also building three PV plants totaling 39 MW in the state of Indiana.
