Art installation shows solar applications

Italian designer and architect Eleonora Nicoletti has made an art installation which can recharge smartphones and laptops.
Italian architect and designer Eleonora Nicoletti has demonstrated just how beautiful solar power can be with an artistic installation which can recharge electronic devices such as laptops and smartphones.
The installation, which glows green at night, is on display at the H Hotel in Midland, Michigan, and features PowerFilm solar cells integrated into a photoluminescent film and boasting a 5 V capacity which is enough to charge up to three devices from points for various plugs in the base of the piece.
Eleonora, who specializes in energy-generating communicative surfaces in architecture, told pv magazine: "Solar energy is beautiful!"
